Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
"A deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to relieve chronic pain, tension, and stiffness. Unlike the gentle strokes of a Swedish massage, this method uses firm pressure and slow, deliberate movements to break down scar tissue, improve mobility, and aid in injury recovery—ideal for those with sports injuries, repetitive strain, or persistent muscle tightness. During the session, therapists may use fingers, knuckles, elbows, or forearms to apply deep pressure, which can cause temporary discomfort but ultimately leads to relief. Communication is key; always let your therapist know if the pressure is too intense. Afterward, hydration and heat therapy (like a warm bath) can help ease soreness, which may last 1–2 days. However, individuals with blood clots, fractures, severe inflammation, or recent surgeries should avoid this treatment, as should pregnant women without medical approval. For best results, regular sessions and proper aftercare are recommended."
